This vest is what I've been searching for a long time. I love all the pockets! I will take it to Iceland with me this September and if we go anywhere in the Spring, I would take it then too. It's lightweight. It wouldn't keep you warm in a cold climate but you could wear it over a sweater for the convenience of all those pockets and it would look fine over a sweater. In summer, it might be a little too warm depending on where you are. I'm in NC and I can't see myself wearing it here this summer. I do wish it wrinkled less easily but it's OK as long as you hang it up or be sure to fold it nicely when not using it. I would recommend even though it's expensive. I've had compliments on it too.I could not return. It is too small for comfort. I wish I could exchange.I was so excited - so sure this was the answer to my travel needs! Alas, 18 pockets? please. Easily 4 of them only fit a few coins - can't even imagine what they're for. I own a Surface Pro7 and it does not fit, so I stuck an 8.5"x6" notebook in that slot. You can see from my photo that I only got 8 items into the vest. The small purple notebook is essentially the same size as my iPhone7 but I couldn't put that in and still take photos. The "water bottle" is not my water bottle (which wouldn't fit) - it's just 12oz. The sunglasses in the breast pocket is very uncomfortable. Yes, I'm using a soft case - of course I'm using a case, my glasses are prescription and $450, I'm not putting them in a pocket without a case! The RFID passport pocket is super small - just fits the passport by itself - nothing else. If your passport is in a wallet, it will not fit. In my photo you can see I put a card & coin case in there - that's all that would fit. Had to put my wallet in another pocket.Yes, there is a pocket on the back but again, my Surface Pro7 doesn't fit so.... what are you supposed to put back there? My orange notebook fit, but the only way to get something out is to take off the entire vest.The vest is so attractive on its own. As soon as you put stuff in it, however, it looks awful. Honestly, I look like I've been shop lifting. More importantly though is that it's just not comfortable once I put these 8 items in it. I had hoped I could wear this on the plane to Italy and not worry about my valuables during that 11 hour flight. But I can't imagine walking around in it for hours, let alone trying to relax or sleep in it. For the cost, I really don't think it's worth it. I think I'm probably better off just getting a Pacsafe backpack or bag.Love them this is my second one. I also have a jacket.Great for travel. No chance of being pick pocketed.Husband also has one.I love this vest! I talked with two different people with the company who recommended a XL size to be able to put everything in it. My measurements were within the boundaries of the Lg size except for my waist which was an inch larger than the Lg size. I ordered the XL size. It was enormous! I sent it back and ordered the Lg which fits perfectly. I can get the iPad and water bottle in and still zip it. The zippers and pockets are fine and will be very useful. The quality of the vest is very nice. I don’t know if it might be too warm in a very tropical climate. I wanted it for airplane travel and mild weather. It will be nice to not have to carry a purse or bag. I might not use the vest for my iPad and water bottle because it was a bit bulky with those items. I should be able to carry everything else. The waist is pretty straight so therefore, it fit well.PRO: Love the nice big pocket that fits my iPad and other larger items. Runs small but the fit is nice and it is comfortable. I am 5'3" medium build and ordered XL - just fits and certainly can't wear it over a sweater. CON: Waaaay overpriced. Average quality. A few of the pockets are quite functional, but the majority are either tiny and worthless and shouldn't count as a pocket or just not practical. The color is NOT as depicted. I ordered the gray based on the lighter, prettier color in the picture. It is a darker, dirty gray-green color. Not becoming at all. None of the available colors are attractive - it would be nice to see some less drab colors. The ONLY reason I am keeping it is because it is the only vest I have been able to find with the big pocket. Now THAT is quite handy. Rest of the vest - meh. Needs some major tweaking and an upgrade on quality for the price. And better colors.My husband and I each purchased a ScotteVest for our two week safari through Tanzania and Uganda. It truly exceeded our expectations.1. Didn't need to figure out how to manage a purse while on safari. (Me not the hubby!) No sore shoulders from a purse and the weight in the vest was distributed evenly.2. A breeze going through airport security screenings and there were more screenings than we are used to in the U.S. Simply slip of your vest and send it through the scanner. Easy.3. Specialized pockets for every item I needed/wanted to carry. Always knew where my cell phone, wallet and passport were.4. Light weight enough to wear even when the temperatures rose.5. Still looks good after wearing every day for two weeks.6. What I carried in my vest: phone, sunglasses, wallet, passport, boarding passes, e-reader, pen, toilet tissue and Kleenexes, ginger candy and mints (for motion sickness), prescriptions and anti-diarrhea medications, and earbuds.Safari hint: Black and dark blue attract tsetse flies so choose your color wisely.Arrived on time; exactly what I ordered; fit is great!
